Every once in awhile, I would get sweet little comments on wedding photos I would post on my instagram from a girl named Krissy exclaiming that someday when she is planning her wedding, she knows she wants me to her wedding photographer. Well, a few years later and that day came this past October in Nashville, Tennessee!! Talk about a compliment. The day after her wedding, Krissy and Paul took me out to get tacos after I snapped a few photos of them with their pup, Topanga. Krissy is a “Boy Meets World” fan incase you haven’t caught on. One of the moments I loved most about their wedding day was during their reception. Krissy had trouble finding a song to dance to with her father, Earl, so she went ahead to write and record a song unique to their story in her husband Paul’s studio. When Krissy was three years old, Earl married her mother and adopted Krissy under his name, raising her as his own. As Krissy surprised her father during their dance together with the song she wrote, tears met the eyes of almost everyone in that room, including me. It was also the first time Krissy saw her father cry. Towards the end of the night, all of their closest friends gathered with their acoustic guitars to sing the bride and groom songs such as “Big Jet Plane” by Angus & Julia Stone. Their is no better DJ than your friends singing and performing for you.
